okayy hey! its always hard perfecting your eyeliner so i"m here to heelpp :)
liquid: i don"t nessacarily recommend liquid for beginners, it's quite hard to work with.remember its okay to put the brush on the roots or your eyelashes, if it's black or brown you probs won't see it. winged eyeliner is best with liquid in my opinion! :) covergirl's is really good.
pencil: if you don't spend the money on a good brand for pencil, it will probably be hard and not be smooth or even so make suure it's kind of creamy and smooth so it applies evenly!! :) pencil is best for smudging for a smokey eye in my opinion!
gel: i havent tried gel eyeliner but appearently it's kind of a mix between liquid and pencil!! but you need to buy an angle brush , and good angle brushes are usally expensive :(
